11th edition of Écrire la Méditerranée
Curated by Mahmoud Saïd, Mare Nostrum was a group exhibition presented in 2023 at the Institut français d’Alexandrie as part of the 11th edition of Écrire la Méditerranée. Bringing together Alexandria-based artists, the exhibition presented different disciplines of contemporary art, including painting, sculpture, photography, and installation.
Through diverse artistic practices and individual perspectives, Mare Nostrum explored the Mediterranean as a space of encounter, memory, and cultural dialogue, reflecting the multiplicity of contemporary artistic voices emerging from Alexandria.
The exhibition featured works by Abanoub Adel, Abdelrahman Fayed, Abdelrahman Mahmoud, Ahmed Youssri, Engy Omar, Ibrahim Khalid, Mahmoud Saïd, Maisoun El-Zorba, Meram Adly, Sahar Dourgham, Salah El-Din Ahmed, and Sara Zoheir.
